The new computer finally turned up yesterday. My old Mac Pro is getting pretty old and so at editing the videos for the site. So I decided last week to get a faster machine. This one is actually for Zac so he can help me with editing the videos and producing preview videos. Soon I’m hoping to put little preview videos of each scene on the latest updates page. He has already produced some little clips with music and graphics. They look really cool!
When I ordered the machine I thought the customising would be done here in Australia. I was really surprised to see that it was put together in Shanghai. Which makes me think that the money I paid all went overseas. And I wonder how much of it actually went to the company that built the machine in China and how much went to Apple in the US. If I had known that it was going to be all done off shore I probably would have ordered it through a retail store in Australia rather than through the online store. At least then some business in Australia would have benefited.
